WhatsApp will soon adopt usernames for customers and businesses.
At Atom, we anticipate and enable the possibility of generating a username for your channels within Atom.
With this update, administrators can claim and view the @username of each WhatsApp channel connected from Atom available in Settings → Channels.
The phone number will still be visible in the WhatsApp profile for your customers. @marca complements your identity; it doesn't replace it.
Key Features
- Visibility in the Channels table: the Name column shows @username when it is claimed, or an indicator with the Claim Username action if it is missing.
- Creation of a username for WhatsApp numbers within Atom
- New channels: when connecting a new WhatsApp, the username step is mandatory before finalizing the configuration.
- Suggested usernames: Meta has already generated username suggestions for your channels.
Ready to claim your @username?
- Go to Settings → Channels.
- Search for connected WhatsApp channels with a pending username indicator.
- Click on Claim Username, choose or type the desired name and click Validate.
- New channel: when connecting WhatsApp, complete the username step before saving — it's mandatory in the connection flow.
